Shon O. Doyle Offer’s Business Assistance!

The former St. Mary’s Parish Hall has a new purpose these days. After the fire years ago, Shon Doyle purchased the former hall in 2012 and has refurbished it into an apartment at one end and three offices in the rest of the building. “I’ve been at this location since 2012” Shon Doyle shared. “I was looking for a place; the Knights of Columbus had this building and wanted to sell it, I’m a member of the Knights of Columbus. So, I stepped up and purchased it. I call it the Greenwalt Complex because they were the farmers that originally donated the land for St. Mary’s to be built on.”

Prior to being located at Greenwalt Complex, Shon said his business office was in his former home on 7th street. Shon Doyle has been in business in Pawnee since 2008, but has been working in accounting long before that. “I have been in accounting since high school.

Shon said he likes working in Pawnee he enjoys the people and the community.

It was a business model class in junior high that caught his attention turning it to accounting and his interest has never waned. Over his 40 plus years as a professional business person, he has worked in corporate and systems management besides for offering personal and business tax accounting services. Shon uses the name Sal Tax and Accounting Service and said that some people seem to think his name is Sal rather than Shon.

“My business is in Central Illinois, California, Canadian tax returns, Wisconsin, Minnesota and all over. I have customers that have moved, and they have stayed with me,” he said. With the Internet and mail, it is easy to have a customer base everywhere.

From January – April, Shon said that he focuses on his tax service, but the rest of the year, he is kept busy with business services, bookwork, payroll, and business consulting.

Business services include a wide array of topics. “My experience includes all facets, administrative, human resources, safety, production, and sales to name a few, I have managed some pretty good-sized companies.”

Shon emphasized how important safety is for a business. “It is a necessary evil because it can lead to workman’s compensation claims. I worked in the lumber and logging industry where an injury can lead to disability or death or people playing workman’s comp.” All of these can be very expensive for a company.

For those that get injured on the job, Shon said the important thing is to get them back to work safely.

Shon has been a National Presenter on Strategic development planning, implementation and monitoring. He can help businesses with their corporate Strategic development plan. He can develop a reporting system to enhance the communication flow and assist in marketing and advertising.

Shon is a CPA and a Certified Business Manager as well as a Quick Books pro advisor. Shon is a member of the AICPA, the Wisconsin Certified Public Accountant Association and he is a Registered CPA in Illinois. Shon has been involved with community activities in Pawnee both financially and in person. When he worked in Wisconsin, he was active in community activities like the Western Wisconsin Workforce Development Board (13 years as Chairman of the Board) and the Wisconsin Workforce Development Association. He is a Past Board Member of the Northwest Management Outreach Center and the Sparta Area Chamber of Commerce. Shon received the Community Service Award for Sparta, Wisconsin. Shon was Chairman of the Fundraising and Building Committee for the Sparta Area Youth Hockey Association where he directed the raising of the funds necessary to build a state of the art indoor ice arena. As Chairman of the Sparta Youth Hockey Association, Shon ran a successful program for the community. Shon was a Cub Master with the Cub Scouts in Sparta, Wisconsin. Shon was a CCD instructor and an Instructor at Western Wisconsin Technical College.

Interested in the outdoors, Shon enjoys fishing, hunting and bicycling. Shon is a Certified Turkey Hunting Instructor and a White Tail deer hunting instructor through the National Rifle Association. Just one look around his office and it is clear that he loves wildlife with a view of the trophies on his wall. He even has a bear he harvested; he calls it White Heart, because of the white heart on its chest. Shon is a lifetime member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association.

Shon enjoys playing pool and he previously owned the 1854 Wine Pub located on the square in Pawnee. (Pawnee was settled in 1854) He purchased it when a client wanted to sell their bar. He enjoyed it saying he had Great associates working with him. He owned the pub for about four years before deciding to sell. Pawnee has been a good place for Shon, and he enjoys working with members of the community.
