How to Submit a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Request

Requests for public records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140) may be
submitted by mail, email, or in person during regular business hours.

Please include:

  • Your name and contact information.
  • A description of the records you are requesting that is specific enough to allow the Village to locate them.
  • Whether you wish to inspect the records or receive copies.

For your convenience, the Village provides an optional FOIA Request Form. Use of this form is
not required to submit a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act.
